Surface Pattern Outcome

Over the past mouth I have been studying a surface pattern unit looking at different innovative designers that would inspire me to create a strong final outcome. By looking at different sources of information Fred Butler stood out to me the most with the bright ranges of colours he uses throughout his designs. For my final outcome I was asked to use a range of YKK zips in my final design and using techniques we have been studying over the past month for e.g. knitting embroidery etc..
Here I coiled YKK zips around a black YKK zip holding the coiled zips in place.
Inspirations:
- Coiled zips inspirations came from a pandora bracelet how they all fit to the chain gave me the inspiration to coil different sized YKK zips
- Fred Butler (colour inspirations)

Once I had coiled the zips for my final design I checked my colour pallet in my sketch book as I wanted my colour scheme to remain consistent throughout my final design seen in the picture below ...
I then added embellishments to my final design using the workshop techniques I have studied.

This is my final design with all final embellishments added.
Inspirations:
Fred Butler- Abstract shape
Anne Marie Power- I framed my workshop techniques. From looking at her work she creates a lot of textile techniques and frames her final designs I took this as inspiration and used it in my necklace.

Here is my final outcome as seen above :)
